Why was there never a movie made from this?! Most of L.M Montgomery's have been adapted to a movie or a series! Why didn't this one ever become a movie it would have been very nice seeing the characters come to life!

Of course they'd probably have to pad it with additional action scenes, as much of the text is filled with descriptions of flora and fauna and seasonal changes that are so long and detailed they're practically Tolkienesque!
