When you returned home to the USA after your travels, did you experience any sort of depression after the epiphanies in "Eat, Pray, Love"?

Elizabeth Gilbert NO! Not in the least! We all know the feeling of coming home from a holiday to your real life, and getting depressed — walking in and facing the dirty dishes, the pile of mail, etc. But remember — I had given up my entire life before I went traveling, so it's not like I came home to my boring old real life. I had no real life to return to, and I got to invent it from the beginning, having learned from old mistakes. It was a wonderful time of coming into being, starting new with all my new tools, my new outlook, my new self...
