Goodreads asked Robert M. Kelly:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Robert M. Kelly I work with history, so, this is non-fiction, which depends greatly on having a grasp of the secondary literature. All of that needs to be read, re-read, and scoured for clues. The search for fresh information and for a fresh perspective will occasionally unearth an entirely new source…perhaps a diary, or a set of newspaper ads. As a consequence, I can honestly say that I never have to worry about writer's block! There is always too much to do. If I get stuck in one particular direction, I can always switch to another. Then there is the huge matter of marketing, which is so necessary, and for research in that direction. Trust me, there is always a way to fill my time!
