How did you decide which aspects of vampire mythology (connection to bats/wolves, process of turning into a vampire, etc.) are fact and which are fiction in the world of the All Souls Trilogy? Deborah Harkness Good question! I just went through the legends and story traditions carefully and discarded the things I thought were completely impossible in the world that I live in. So turning into bats? No. Fangs? No. If my neighbor had fangs I would know. Etc.
