Hello Kasie! I wanted to ask something. What was going through your mind when you were writing both "The Distance Between Us" and "On The Fence"? I loved both those books. I literally read both books in a matter of 2 weeks! Also, can you think of writing a sequel or novella for both books? I would love to read them. Especially the novellas so we can all see the POV of both boys.

Kasie West Aw. Thank you so much. I'm glad you liked them. What was going through my head while I wrote?? Hmmm. Probably something like: "Writing is hard, nobody is going to like this, oh man I'm not very good at this. Oh wait, this is awesome, I love to write, these characters are fun, I'm the best. Nope, I suck again, my writing career is over, why do I try? etc etc etc." That's pretty much the cycle of self loathing, self praise that happens while I write. lol I probably won't be writing sequels for those books, but maybe some short stories some day. I'll have to see. Thanks for the question!

Do you ever abandon projects? This is my most Terrible Habit and something I struggle with BIG time as a writer. If you aren't a project abandon-er, how do you continue a WIP when you get that "this-sucks-and-I-would-rather-eat-a-bucket-of-live-scorpions-than-continue-writing-this-drivel"? Especially for someone like me, who doesn't have to write under duress--aka, no deadline, no agent breathing down my neck... ;)

Hi Kasie, what do you do when you have a bad day? For example life at home with my family is causing issues to rise, like having the phone taken away or being to controlling over me. I get tired of it and school just gets worse everyday. I almost fall asleep in my classes and I have to go get help with homework even though I dont need it. Any advice to get through the darkness and into the light? Your books inspire!
