Michele Rowe
Michele Rowe asked Dianne K. Salerni:

No questions - I just wanted to write and say how much I enjoyed The Caged Graves. I work in a high school library and the cover of the book has been calling out to me for a few months now - glad I finally read it! Actually - have you found other caged graves?

Dianne K. Salerni Hi, Michele!

I'm thrilled that you enjoyed The Caged Graves!

There are a number of caged graves in Scotland, where mortsafes were a common way to protect against resurrection men. But those cages don't look anything like the ones in Catawissa. They look more like grates.

According to the Columbia County Historical Society, the caged graves in Catawissa are the only ones found in North America. I don't have a way of verifying that, but I have no reason to doubt that they did their research!
