Hey! Made You Up is one of the best books I have ever read on mental illnesses and I am very interested in them but it is hard to find good books that really tell you about them to show what it is like. You did a very good job on the whole book. I have two questions for you! How long did it take you to write it? Where did you come up with the idea?

Thank you! It kind of depends on where you start. I wrote the very very first draft in fifth grade, but I wrote the draft that most looks like the book about three years before it got published, and it was edited after that. So either a very long time or a kind-of long time.
The idea came from a lot of different places and a lot of different drafts--it's sort of a Frankenstein's monster of a book. I was so young when I started it, I don't remember where the inspiration originated or where other ideas came in over the years.

Hi! I just read Eliza and her Monsters, and I absolutely loved it! Why are two different book covers? Did you ever thought of making a sequel to that book? I like how it starts simple, plain, and eventually escalates to emotional rollercoaster. I don't feel like characters in stories, but this was different. Especially when Eliza thought a lot about Wellhouse Turn, and Wallace came. How did you do this? Thanks!
