Goodreads asked Ricardo Chévere:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Ricardo Chévere It happened to me, and I'm sure it happens to a lot of new writers, so, here's my advice: Stop wondering if your story is good and doubting yourself. There is an audience for every single story and topic out there, but they won't find you unless you publish.

Before finishing my first book, I kept asking a few of my friends, who were fans of fantasy and dragons -what my books are about- if they liked my story so far. They could have answered my repetitive question, but instead, they said what I really needed to hear, "Just finish the book!". It was my insecurity what kept me going back to bother them once and again with the same question. But they were right; the judge (the readers) was out there, waiting for my book to get published so they could read it and enjoy it.

It doesn't matter how strange or different your story might be, there are people who are going to hate it, as well as an entire audience out there waiting to get their hands on it, devour it, and love it; you just need to get it published. So, write without fear.
