Phyllis J. Piano Stay at it. Get feedback from people you respect and trust. I got an editor on a recommendation from my college friend, Kris Radish, a best-selling author. My editor really helps me and doesn't hesitate to suggest necessary changes. Your friends and family may not be as direct or help you improve your writing as much. Another piece of advice: use your contacts to help get your book out there once it's published.
