Goodreads asked Lynne Basham Tagawa:

How do you get inspired to write?

Lynne Basham Tagawa My first book, Sam Houston's Republic, was not even meant for publication. I was attempting to write history in an interesting way for my students. Textbooks can be dry and boring! Since it is written in any easy-to-read, narrative style, it is also of interest to the general public--especially here in Texas.

In essence, writing is about communication. My current project was inspired partly by a theology professor, Dr. Richard Belcher, who wrote a series of novels in order to teach theology in a painless way. My book is not so serious or systematic, but he gave me the vision that solid gospel truth can be communicated via fiction.
