I listened too, and had to write down as I listened:
Effia ===> Quay ===> James ==> Ahena (sp?) ===> Akua ===> Yaw ==>Marjorie
Esi ===> Ness ===> Kojo ===> H ===> Willie ===> Sonny ===> Marcus

Yes, in the front of the book. I referred to it with every chapter it seemed.

On Audible, in your library under 'My Books,' in the 'Title' column, there is a link simply called 'PDF' which is a link to the family tree. I'm not sure if it will let you follow the link but this is the URL for me: http://download.audible.com/product_r...

the family tree in the front was invaluable. I referenced it, every chapter.

I Googled "homegoing family tree" and found an image of the family tree included in the hard copy. While I was reading the ebook, I took a screenshot of the family tree and was able to refer back to it regularly. Otherwise, I do not think I would have been able to understand and appreciate what was happening.

Even if you listen to this book on CD, I think you HAVE to have a copy of the family tree (from the front of the paper book) while reading. I had to check it at the start of every chapter, to see where we were! Wonderful, wonderful book.

I printed out a copy to refer to as I read the book. This is the one I used, and it was a precious resource, especially if you're reading it on an e-reader or listening to it on an audibook: http://knopfdoubleday.com/marketing/p...

Well I don't feel so bad now after reading all these answers. I am listening to the audiobook and I am having trouble keeping track of all the many different characters.

If you are also looking for more on the minor characters, the Wikipedia entry has a family tree, as well: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homegoi...

I haven't read the book (yet) but I did find a family tree on this blog review of the book: https://bookscapeblog.wordpress.com/2...

Phew :p glad I'm not the only one.

I too used the family tree in the front of the book as I started each new chapter. I am sure that is why the author included it. This is a fabulous book.

For those of you with ebooks, here is a printable image of the family tree in case it helps: http://knopfdoubleday.com/marketing/p...

It is best to get a copy of the first page of the book. The family tree is charted there. I can't imagine listening to the story without being to consult it...
Becks
I listened to the audiobook too and I had a hard time keeping the characters straight. This is a story I would suggest reading the print copy
Olivia Bracken
I listened to it also. I went to Wikipedia and found the family tree as well as chapter/character summaries very helpful.
Lana Hollmann
In the front of the book is listed a family tree.
Kay
I am so glad to learn that others had the same problem keeping the characters straight while listening to it on Audiobooks. I thought it was just me.
Robert Penn
There is a chart in the book. It is easy to refer back to that chart for reference.

If you can get hold of a copy of the printed book in a library, it would help to xerox the family tree at the beginning of the book. It really helped with reading the printed copy.
