One of the hardest things about life is that we have to save ourselves. Sucks, but it's true. Cassie didn't do it. Lia did - the whole book is her journey into her pain and then into herself to face that pain and find the courage to reach for help. In the reaching lies the real power that we all have.
Lia's doing great. She still has moments, of course, when ED/ANA look good, but she's smart enough to realize that those moments mean she's stressing or overwhelmed or exhausted. She's learned to deal with the issues. She's learned to love life, to love food, and be really happy with who she is.
