Hi,
I tend to throw the reader head-first into the story and drip-feed information through-out. By using this tactic the first pages are full of tense moments and then, as the book progress, you get to find out why and what is happening whilst keeping the level of tension high. Also - the books are thousands of pages long which some people could find off putting if time is sparse. A good story to start off with would be PORN to get an idea of how I work.

If I'm not taking the piss by asking *two* questions in a row lol: Do you have any writers that would be your dream-person to collaborate with? Personally, I would have LOVED to see what you and Richard Laymon could have come up with together. If you haven't checked out Jon Athan, his books are pretty cool and your styles would compliment each other. Just an idea :P

which books are able to scare you? (yours or others) I'm sure that as a horror writer you are very aware of what strikes fear in your own heart, but i also suspect that it doesn't happen to you often when reading other authors, or even yourself. but i'd be curious to know what books you've read that have sent a shiver down your spine.
