Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

J.C. Hay I knew I wanted to set a science fiction romance in Dubai, UAE. It's a very technology-forward city that people don't hear much about - they just 3-D printed an office building there! As for the underpinnings of my story, I wanted to look at the relationship implications of not being able to trust memory or sense of self, something that hero struggles with throughout.
