Forgive me if this question is stupid, but is What is Mine the sequel to someone else's child? It isn't made clear from the description on Amazon but it seems that way from reading the book description. I don't want to read them in the wrong order so thought I would check before I purchased.. Thanks

Thanks for this question, Zoe. Not stupid at all! Someone Else's Child is not a sequel. It is the same book, retitled for UK audiences. The London publisher wanted a title that was a bit less "oblique." I'm glad you asked this and spared yourself (and perhaps others) the disappointment of buying a new book and seeing that you'd read it before. I am working on another novel which will be out in 2018. It's not a sequel, but you'll see similarities in it to "What Was Mine." Thanks so much for your read and your question.

Helen, We met you briefly at Brainerd Friends of the Library event in Brainerd, MN in 2016. As a fundraiser, I won the bid to have my name in your next book. We spoke briefly and.......you did jot my name in your book........however, I have not heard from you and am wondering if, indeed, the winning bid will be honored and my name will be one of the characters in your next book? Please advise. Just finished listening to "What Was Mine" and loved it. I am a mom, but I also have a sister who adopted 7 children. I couldn't help but wonder how I would feel if my nephews & nieces were suddenly not my nephews & nieces. As far as I am concerned they are my family despite my sister not giving birth to any of them. Will always look at IKEA and remember this book! How much research went into the Chinese culture?
