Shannon Messenger I never really thought of it as "getting into the mind of a boy" as I wrote. I thought of it as "getting into the mind of Vane." I made myself get to know so many things about him that I figured out how HE thinks and that's what you see on the page. I think it's less daunting to approach it that way--and more real to the process, honestly. I'm not trying to CHANNEL ANOTHER GENDER. I'm just channeling a character, which is what I have to do with every character I write, regardless of whether they're a boy, girl, or telepathic alicorn. :)
