Hello. My name is Jessica Woodward and I am an aspiring author. I would love to become an author when I'm older and intend to study it at university, but am not quite sure how to achieve my goal. What advice could you have?

G.L. Twynham Hi Jessica, sorry for the really long delay! You've probably written a few books by now :D

First, you need an idea. I know that sounds silly - but you'd be amazed at how many people don't have one!

Then plan, plan like your life depends on it.

Once you have an idea and a plan - write. Enjoy yourself, first pass is always the best part.

Then edit until you feel like you never want to see it again.

Only ask people to assess it - who know what they're talking about. If you're at UNI there will be loads.

Enjoy it - it's the best feeling ever writing those two special words -
