I really enjoyed it because it showed even more so her sweet mother-like tendencies, and it also brought her and Arthur together several times. Little Dorrit even remarks on how she thinks he'd be such a good father one time, when he's watching Maggy. Also, I have a little sister named Maggie with a mental disability but who is so sweet and good and happy and fun, like our Maggy in the book, so she reminded me of her and so set me an example in Little Dorrit in my relationship with her.

That Maggie was the foil for Little Dorrit. Maggie is the adult that is childlike, and whom Little Dorrit cares for like a mother, even though Maggie is the older woman. Conversely, Little Dorrit is the child who is adult-like; who always takes care of those who should be taking care of her.

That little dorrit was a true , honest friend for Maggie, a very caring girl for that creauture! Little dorrit never take advantage of anyone, only helps ,only loves/

I think that Maggie is supposed to be an opposite to Little Dorrit. Where Little Dorrit is younger and more aware and mature, Maggie is the older one and her immaturity highlight's Little Dorrit's maturity and motherly nature. She makes a lot of Little Dorrit's qualities visible.
