Hi Ms. Messenger, sorry for asking so many questions. I was rereading Neverseen last night, and I was wondering if you have actually been to Italy before because there was a lot of details about it. So my question is, have you been to all of the settings that are real in your book? Thanks so much!

I have been to Italy--and I've been to Florence a few different times, which is one of the reasons I chose it for a setting in NEVERSEEN. Not only is it one of my favorite cities (and I tend to include things I like in the books) but I prefer when I can write about a place I've been able to see with my own eyes and smell and walk through and feel, rather than just relying on google earth. I haven't been *everywhere* that's real in KEEPER (no way am I climbing to the top of Mount Everest) but I've been to as many of the places as I can.

In Keeper of the Lost Cities, was it hard to make Sophie understand that she's an elf? Because I love writing, and I'm writing a story similar to that at home for fun (Person finds out they have magical powers and goes to school for people who also do), and I'm having trouble making the person understand while still showing that this is obviously hard for them to believe. Have any tips?
