I see you are an equestrian. When I was a kid, teenage girls often had a fascination with horses. I don't know if that's true today, but has that influenced you to write for the YA market?

Thanks for your question, Christina! I didn't think up a story for a particular market. Horses are a big part of my life, so it was natural for me to write a novel involving horses and riding. I had the story in my head--set at a summer horse camp--and realized it would fit nicely with the YA crowd, hopefully, with some adult crossover appeal. The novel I'm working on now also involves horses, but is intended for the adult market.
