I teach adults with learning difficulties and disabilities. One of my learners is so much like Millie, that it was her who I envisaged whilst reading it. I just wondered, who actually was the inspiration for the character?

B.A. Paris It means so much to me when I get messages like yours because it means I got Millie right, so thank you! When I was younger I had friend whose sister had Downs and she used to tell me about her and how amazing she was, so I suppose that subconsciously, I based Millie on her.
