Reviews have called your book the "2016's answer to Gone Girl" ... Did Gone Girl give you inspiration for your book? If not, where did your inspiration for Psychotic-Handsome-Charming Jack come from?

B.A. Paris I was already writing Behind Closed Doors before Gone Girl was published and I didn't read it until after I'd seen the film - I thought both were brilliant. My inspiration forJack came from my imagination and I made him handsome and charming simply because it makes for a better story!

My question is, has there been a time you've devised that perfect character in some psychotic atmosphere and you echoed the words of Edgar Alan Poe, " I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity?" I ask because your work is so gripping I often lose myself in your books and feel a gratifying sense of insanity after finishing the book. The beauty of temporary escapism is a beautiful affair. Huge fan.

How is it that such a glaring mistake can happen? Page 63 Grace vehemently explains how she had no need for a cell phone and yet 5 pages later she calls her mother from her cell phone.
