AlinaTheCacti asked Shannon Messenger:

When you're writing a book, do you put like a lot of thought in writing like a paragraph or do you like just "Go with the flow"?

Shannon Messenger It depends on what stage I'm at. When I'm drafting, I try not to let myself get too hung up on the words themselves, and focus on plot and character and just getting the story down on paper--even if it's messy. But once I'm revising, then I focus on the words and polish every sentence and paragraph until it all reads the way I want it to.
