Goodreads asked V.R. Stone:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

V.R. Stone Ideas pop into my head when I'm doing other things. But that happens as a result of me considering a topic previously. It's like a process that's running in the background and it produces a result when it's done.

I had been struggling for years to find the right story and the right genre. I'd gravitated towards crime and thrillers. But my male protagonists were lacking something and the stories weren't very original.

Then one night I was lying awake and I just thought "You should write about a female serial killer." Building a story around a female character made me approach the story in a different way. It was a eureka moment!
