I have loved your books ever since I was a little girl. I grew up with Ella Enchanted, but I love The Two Princesses of Bamarre and Ever the best. Question, how do you get the idea for The Two Princesses of Bamarre and Ever? I figured Ella Enchanted is a different version of Cinderella and Fairest is a different version of Snow White. I could never figure out The Two Princesses of Bamarre or Ever, though.

Gail Carson Levine TWO PRINCESSES began as a retelling of "The Twelve Dancing Princesses," but I couldn't figure it out, and it evolved into an original fairy tale. The inspiration for EVER was the troubling bible story of Jeptha and his daughter, which I quote at the beginning of the book.
