Avneet Kaur asked Vikki VanSickle:

Dear Vikki, I love to read and write, but sometimes I realize that a lot of my stories are pretty much about the same topic. Can you give me any advice on how I can improve my stories?

Vikki VanSickle Hi Avneet! This happens to me, too. I think this comes from a tendency I have to write about topics that I like. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. Lots of authors have a genre or characters they like to stick to, sometimes over a number of books. For example, I never intended to write more books about Clarissa and Benji after Words That Start With B, but I found myself thinking about them and so I wrote two more! Personally, the more interested I am in a topic and a story the more likely I am to finish the book! I also find that I am influenced by what a read, so maybe switch up what you're reading and you may find inspiration there. Hope this helps! xo
