I loved Reconstructing Amelia. We had a great discussion about it. Where did your inspiration come from to write the story with the ending first and then deliver the details in flashbacks, emails, texts?

Thanks so much for reading and for your question! I've always written in an orchestral fashion from multiple points of view and with snippets of journal entries etc. It's a style that comes most naturally to me. But I actually intended to write this book from only Kate's POV, but it quickly became clear to me that the narrative was incomplete without Amelia's POV. She came in first via her electronic history, etc.

But the tragic event always occurred right at the beginning. I find some things just "are" when I start to write something new. Thanks again for the question, have a great summer!

Reconstructing Amelia was an amazing book and I truly loved every sentence. I loved that your writing truly allowed me, as a reader, to get to know Amelia and her mother. As I read the story, the anguish Amelia's mother felt and her need for answers was portrayed so intensely. Are you a mother and did you write her perspective from how you think you would've felt if you were in her situation?
