I have not read WIRE FOR STORY yet. Anyone think that's necessary to "get" this book? Or can I skip ahead and just start here?

Wired for Story is more "why" while Story Genius is more "how." They can be read independently of each other.
Jeanne Moran
You don't need to read Wired for Story first, although it certainly will spark ideas of its own! She does a great job explaining the basic concepts in Story Genius.
John Maguire
Wired for Story is not as good as Story Genius, which includes everything in the first book, but it a more useful form.
