Ted Morgan
asked:
An appalling fraudulent propaganda defense of American imperialism. The entire work is a screed. The author long ago revealed himself as a replent defender of the U.S.A. genocide in Viet Nam. Do you agree?

I find it to be the opposite, as he is critical of the "universality" of western ideas and the imperialism he sees linked to it.

Hi Ted, I would disagree. I do not know the author's political affiliations or positions towards US's foreign policies. He openly discusses US decline of power and the necessity to find collective agreements as to prevent clashes between civilizations. I was concerned that indeed he would be biased toward supporting US efforts to impose itself as a global dominance, but I seldom found that. Were there chapters that stood out more for you? I am curious
Clifford Michaels
Interesting point of view. I'd say all the major civilizations inhabiting this Earth continue to promote and protect their interests. (Asia, Western and Muslim)
Regardless what you think of the author, it's hard to deny that these same cultures/civilizations continue to war (after 1000's of years) with each other economically and sometimes on an actual battlefield.
Humanity needs to come to grips with itself and understand that with the weapons currently in play the risk of mass destruction is real.
