Tina Yeager Join a writing community and attend professional conferences. At my first writers conference in 2007, a fellow attendee invited me to join his critique group. Word Weavers hosted only its original location at the time. I commuted from Tampa to Orlando each month--a ninety mile trip and well worth it. Word Weavers is now an international organization with dozens of chapters, including online opportunities.
