James, do you remember which series of mystery/crime novels featured a detective that was known for the sumptuous sandwiches he always fixed for himself after work? He always ate them over the sink because he'd be dripping Russian dressing or something from them. He accompanied it with a favorite beer he'd mention by name. My hubby and I were trying to remember the character or author but It's been 25 years ago.
