Did anyone else think that the book is WAY better than the movies? I just started the Harry Potter books and I read the first book then watched the movie to see if it was anything like the book or not and I was watching and I thought to myself "Jeez what were these people thinking!"

But, you also have to remember that these are LONG books, and it would've been incredibly difficult to add in every detail while staying in a 3-hour time slot. To add, the movies would've gone very slow, and it wouldn't have a flowy feel. Overall, I think the movies were very good and it is always enjoyable to be able to see your favorite book played on a screen, but if you really want to enjoy the movies and series overall, READ THE BOOKS FIRST! You can't enjoy the series without them!(less)
