Did anyone else think that the book is WAY better than the movies? I just started the Harry Potter books and I read the first book then watched the movie to see if it was anything like the book or not and I was watching and I thought to myself "Jeez what were these people thinking!"

The events left out of the movies made complete sense to me; If every detail were included, the movies would have felt choppy and slow. Admittedly, I watched the movies before reading the books and felt let down by all the hype about the books. I really expected to be wowed.(less)
