Goodreads asked R.G. Yoho:

How do you get inspired to write?

R.G. Yoho Sorry I missed this earlier.

I get inspired to write by writing. The more I write, the more inspired I become.

Inspiration is a fleeting and fickle. It makes for a lousy mistress and even worse for a bride. A writer doesn't dare be at her mercy, because deadlines often won't wait.

I have learned to park my butt in a chair and WRITE, boldly confronting that blank page. And I have also learned that some of my most inspired writing was done when I forced myself to work.

It has been my experience that discipline often gives birth to inspiration. And books are often like our children. They are conceived through inspiration, but they are born only through labor.

I know that isn't the answer a young writer wants to hear, but it IS the answer you need to hear.
