I don't know if this was already asked or not but, what motivated you to write Forgive my Fins trilogy. How did the idea come to you? Also, How were you able to build up the romance between Lily and Quince? Was it difficult or did it come naturally?

Tera Lynn Childs I got the idea for Forgive My Fins while sitting on a beach in Florida and wishing that a merman would walk out of the Gulf and bestow magical mermaid powers on me with a kiss. (No lie.) And I think the spark between Lily and Quince was always there, but I definitely layered in more emotion with every draft.
