Is this book appropriate for a mature 12 year old?
SB I strongly feel it is not.
There are too many scenes that are definitely not appropriate or welcome for a 12 year old.

I'd hold it off until adulthood and even then I wouldn't say this book is a 'must' - far from it. (less)
