Goodreads asked Jennifer Coken:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Jennifer Coken I just start writing anything. When I began writing I used a recommendation from The Artist's Way -- write three pages every morning. So when I get writer's block, I often JUST START WRITING - anything including "this is stupid, this shouldn't be this hard, why can't I think of anything etc." Often what I find is that I will start writing something - it may not be what I had intended to write - it could be a new blog post, or a joke. But once that is written then the rest of the ideas start flowing. It's as if my soul knows what it wants to write.
