kate asked Julie Klassen:

Hi Julie. I have read most of your books and similar ones from other authors, and I have been recently starting to write a book of my own set in around the same time period. Do you have any advice about research, the time period, or writing in general? Thanks!

Julie Klassen That's a tall order, Kate. But here goes...
You’ve heard it before. If you want to be a writer: Write! Make yourself stay in that chair and complete a first draft.
Write what you love to read.
Yes, do your research. Regency readers (and fellow authors) know their stuff and won’t hesitate to let you know when you get something wrong. :)
When you’ve polished your draft, get feedback from well-read friends or other writers.
Join a writer’s group and/or attend writer’s conference(s) or locally-offered classes. As a writer, you’ll always be learning and improving.
Hope something here helps. I wish you all the best as you pursue your writing dreams!
