Just curious, but what experience do you have w/ Romani culture? I'm kind of hesitant to read Living Dead Lovers because it seems interesting, but I also don't want to overstep by bounds as a gadje? Thanks :)

I did some research, plus I have friends from Romania who also filled me in. Personally, I've never lived in the Romani culture but I learned enough as an outsider to have a vague idea. Really, the Romani culture is a very small element of this book and this book could take part in any bohemian lifestyle.
I just chose Romani to make it a little more authentic. This book is a black comedy and would work with or without the Romani aspect, but I would have to choose another culture and Romani seemed as good as any.
