It was originally a bit confusing but a few chapters in, I was hooked. The first chapter you don't really need to read because it's barely relevant to the storyline. There's just a bit of foreshadowing in that chapter.

TLDR: Read the Grisha Trilogy first, then the SoC. Keep into the story & it'll be worth it <3(less)
