What did you do before you began writing? The content of your books are always so deep. I wonder where you get your ideas from.

Sophia Scarlet My novels are centered in the deep connections between us all. I draw inspiration from everything around me. My quotidian experiences, articles I've read, stories I've read and heard, movies and television shows that touched me.

This novel started with a new pair of hiking boots. I was a girl scout as a teenager and I spent a lot of time backpacking and hiking. My new boots reminded me of my love of the woods. Then, hundreds of other experiences colluded to push this story to the forefront of my mind.
