Hi Rhonda! Thanks for the question. This happens to me all the time. I'm not a plotter. I'm what other writers would call a "pantser." I fly by the seat of my pants when I write, letting the plot grow from the characters. This means I usually don't know the bad guy while I'm writing a story (if the story has a bad guy). I figure it out in the end and then go back to make sure I've been fair with the reader in my red herrings and hints. I like being surprised!

How do you develop your characters? Do they just come to you and talk to you on their own and that's how they get started or do you sit down with a concept? When ever I'm developing a new character they just pop up in my head on their own and the details just come with them and I wondered if it worked like that for other people.
