What a nice thing to say, Teresa. Thank you! Inspiration comes from everywhere for me. You never know what tiny comment might spark a story idea. When I'm in serious brainstorming mode, sometimes I'll lie in a darkened room with music playing in the background, to give my brain the freedom to wander. Also, I get a lot of ideas while driving, which means I have to pull over to take notes because ideas are very elusive.
As far as where I do my best writing--in my home office, with my pets asleep nearby. We moved recently and are having work done on our house, so I'm working at an office away from home. I am getting the work done, but I miss my animals.

Hello Susan, My name is Swati. I recently read your Fool's Gold Series and fell in love with the characters more so with the town you created. I just wanted to know how did you create this fictional town of Fool's Gold? Some of the details were so intricately described that I just couldn't help but wonder whether there really is such a town or some what similar to it from where you got your inspiration.

Do you have any idea how long you will continue with the fools gold series? I hope you continue for a long while, I truly love the. And they are THE series I recommend to friends when they ask what to read next. Also do you ever come to Iowa for book signings? I would love to meet you and have my favorite author sign a book!
