How do you come up with the ideas for your books? Do you have a certain technique to writing, such as, sticky notes, outlines, etc.? How do you choose your characterization for the books?

Brenda Novak Hi Deborah--

Thanks for the question. I don't do outlines. I'm what other writers would call a "pantser." I start with something I think would be a great conflict--something I'd really be interested in writing about. Then I figure out what kinds of characters would be most challenged by that conflict and let the plot grow from there.
