Graycelin asked Cornelia Funke:

Hi Cornelia. I know I asked you a question before, but I have another one. :) Were you happy with the movie? Do you think they captured your characters well? I personally loved both the movie and the book...what did you think? Thanks! Graycelin

Cornelia Funke I think they captured some. Dustfinger is brilliant and Mo was of course always Brendan. Farid, Fenoglio and Meggie are wonderful too. But Elinor is wrong despite Helen Mirren being brilliant as well and Capricorn's men are not real. They feel like fake theatre villains - which is not the actors' fault. I also don't like that the story is not so much about Mo and Meggie, but about finding Resa. But....to shrink a book of several hundred pages into a movie of about 90 minutes....that always means the story changes substantially. That's why I don't allow Reckless to be adapted for film.
