Hi Cornelia. I know I asked you a question before, but I have another one. :) Were you happy with the movie? Do you think they captured your characters well? I personally loved both the movie and the book...what did you think? Thanks! Graycelin
Cornelia Funke
I think they captured some. Dustfinger is brilliant and Mo was of course always Brendan. Farid, Fenoglio and Meggie are wonderful too. But Elinor is wrong despite Helen Mirren being brilliant as well and Capricorn's men are not real. They feel like fake theatre villains - which is not the actors' fault. I also don't like that the story is not so much about Mo and Meggie, but about finding Resa. But....to shrink a book of several hundred pages into a movie of about 90 minutes....that always means the story changes substantially. That's why I don't allow Reckless to be adapted for film.

Hi! I just wanted to thank you. Your books are so special to me, especially the Inkworld Trilogy and the Thief Lord. They are filled with so much magic and have taken me on wonderful adventures. How are you so imaginative?! The relationship between Meggie and her dad is so special to me right now, as my own daddy passed away very recently, and their relationship reminds me of what I had with him
