Hi Cornelia. I read Inkheart, and loved it! I enjoy writing my own stories, but struggle for a balance between too detailed and not detailed enough. I don't want the story to seem too vague, but I don't want it to be boring with a ton of details. How did you find the balance when you were writing Inkheart? Thanks! Graycelin (12)

read it aloud Graycelin. Nothing is more revealing. You'll hear where you did too much - or too little. You're weaving a Flying Carpet, so make it dense, but not too heavy.

zwar keine frage ,aber ich wollte mich einmal bedanken: mein erstes funke-buch las ich in der Grundschule, wo Emma und der blaue Dschinn Klassenlektüre war. mittlerweile habe ich in meinem Regal unzählige deiner Bücher stehen(die Tintenweltbücher zählen zu meinen liebsten überhaupt)und greife immer wieder zu ihnen, um mich an den Charakteren, den Geschichten, den Illustrationen und dem Schreibstil zu erfreuen-danke! ?

You're one of the top writers who have influenced my own writing. :) How do you find the beginning of your stories? It's been so hard for me to decide how my book should start, even if I have some ideas how the rest of it goes, and I have rewritten my beginning over fifteen times. I may be simply trying to find my writing voice too.
