Keep God first in your life; don't allow someone else to define you as a writer. We all have our own style of writing find yours and write until your heart is content. Keep a note pad/journal by your bedside because you never know when a great idea will come into your mind. Be prepared some of my most inspiring poems have come in the middle of the night or early morning.
