While I think it's wonderful that your friend is trying to help others, and am glad you are doing what you can to help her raise funds, I'm afraid I am unable to donate anything to the cause at this time.
The myth about authors having a lot of money is just that: a myth. Most of us don't have the kind of money that people like J K Rowling have, for example. If I did have that kind of money, I'd gladly donate a little of it to all sorts of worthy causes and charities. However, until the myth becomes a reality for me, that's just not possible.
