Goodreads asked Matt A. Byron:

How do you get inspired to write?

Matt A. Byron There is a story to be written in just about anything you see. People you meet on a particular day have a story about them. I sometimes think of things backwards. I may see a torn piece of paper on the ground and my mind begins to construct the path that paper took to get there and before I know it, I have a the framework for a story in my head. I do that a lot with things. I think there is a story about anything but somebody just needs to give it a voice. I am constantly thinking of ideas. Then when I got to sleep, that is where I build it. I see the story shaping in my mind like a movie and then when I wake up, I jump on the computer and start typing away.
