Hi, I just wished to tell you that I just finished the Glass Magician, and I cannot wait to start on the third novel! I don't think I've read a series I've liked this much in ages, the characters, the enviroment, near everything is so wonderfully described! I do wish you keep writing such amazing works, I will most likely read them! As for the actual question, I'm curious as to how you even came up with this story?

So glad you're enjoying the series! I hope book three meets your expectations. :)
So I first came up with the story on a long road trip thinking it would be cool to animate origami. Initially, I wanted the character I thought up to go with that magic (Emery) to be a side character in a larger story. The idea stuck with me, and eventually I thought, "Why not just make the paper-folding the main part of the book?" And thus the brainstorming for The Paper Magician was born. I came up with the rest of the magic system first (asking, "What goes with paper?"), then came up with the idea of Ceony. Initially I was going to have Ceony already working as Emery's apprentice, but eventually the tale warped to following her as she became a magician. :)

Hey Charlie! I was also looking to see if we would be getting more from the world of FBF? The main characters storyline is finished, but the depth of the world we saw in the book and then we kept hearing of other places that we didn't. I just loved this world so much and hope we can revisit with some new characters! I tried to ask with as little spoiler as possible!

I recently acquired and read all of the Paper/Material Magicians books. These two small things have been driving me crazy: 1. What was Emery's original intended course of study? 2. When does Tagis Praff graduation take place/are apprentices always placed with mentors relatively quickly, or is there some kind of break?
